The first video on YouTube was published on April 23, 2005, by the video-sharing website’s Co-founder Jawed Karim. Titled ‘Me at the zoo’, the 19-second video was uploaded at 8:27 pm and was recorded by Karim’s high school friend Yakov Lapitsky. It was shot at the San Diego Zoo and featured Karim in front of the elephants.
