Five new subatomic particles discovered at CERN
short by Gaurav Shroff / on Sunday, 19 March, 2017
Scientists using the world's largest and most powerful particle accelerator have discovered a system of five particles in a single analysis. The discovery was made by tracing back the decay of five new-found excited states of the subatomic particle 'baryon' at LHCb, one of the particle detectors at CERN, widely known for the detection of the 'God Particle' Higgs boson.
