Flaw lets AI alter 30 years of crime scene DNA evidence, warn researchers

Researchers have uncovered a security flaw in software used by top US crime labs to analyse DNA evidence. Using Claude, they altered data from computerised DNA scans without leaving any trace, showing attackers could theoretically frame innocent people or erase suspects. The vulnerability likely affects files produced by crime-lab machines since 1995.
