Floodgates of Sukhna Lake has been opened and residents told not to venture near Ghaggar river. The water level has touched 1,158 ft in the lake, prompting precautionary measures downstream. On July 10, 2023, the UT Engineering Department had to open two of the three floodgates of the lake after water level crossed danger mark of 1,163 ft.
