Florida teen founds nonprofit for skin cancer awareness

Medha Kollepara, a Florida teenager, founded Project Prevent UV in April 2025 after watching family and friends battle skin cancer. The nonprofit promotes sun safety and UV risk awareness through school lessons, community outreach, and corporate partnerships. She is also working to pass legislative mandates and increase funding for local melanoma trials.
