Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, presenting Budget 2026, announced the creation of five regional hubs to boost medical tourism. She added that these facilities will have AYUSH centres, diagnostic facilities and post-care infrastructure. She also proposed setting up three new All India Institute of Ayurveda and upgrading WHO Global Medical Centre in Jamnagar to strengthen healthcare systems.
