Ford's market value closed above General Motors' at $83 billion for the first time in over five years. The last time Ford was valued at more than GM was September 14, 2016, when Ford closed the day with a market cap of $48.2 billion. This year, Ford's shares have more than doubled and have reportedly been trading around a 20-year-high.
