Barcelona-based Russian photographer Julia Buruleva is facing backlash for painting an elephant pink in Jaipur for her photoshoot. While she claimed organic colours were used, several criticised her for using a live animal. "This isn't art...this is pure animal abuse...and so not ok to glorify it," a user wrote. "Strange how...elephant has to suffer so...photos can look beautiful," wrote another.
