Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman proposed a tax holiday until 2047 for foreign cloud companies using data centres in India. The move aims to position India as a global digital infrastructure hub while incentivising firms to expand local data storage and processing capabilities. She added that these companies would need to provide services to Indian customers through an Indian reseller entity.
