Foreign inflows return as India’s credit cycle strengthens

Foreign investors brought over $1 billion into Indian equities in the first week of August after months of heavy selling. Jefferies also flagged bank credit growth of 17-18% and stronger corporate lending as positives. The durability of the rebound, however, still depends on oil prices, the rupee and geopolitical risks.
