Former Chinese Premier known as 'Butcher of Beijing' dies aged 90

Former Chinese Premier Li Peng died of an illness on Monday at the age of 90, the state media reported. Peng was referred to as the "Butcher of Beijing" for his role in the Tiananmen Square crackdown on pro-democracy protesters in 1989. He served as China's fourth Premier from 1987 to 1998 and held several posts in the Communist Party.
