Former Interpol chief Meng Hongwei has pleaded guilty to taking ¥14.5 million (over ₹14.72 crore) in bribes, the Chinese state media said. Meng was accused of using various positions he held from 2005 to 2017 to help companies and people make illegal gains. Meng's wife, who's been granted asylum in France, has said the charges against him are politically motivated.
