The Kerala government has paid an additional compensation of ₹1.3 crore to former ISRO scientist Nambi Narayanan, who was framed by police in the 1994 espionage case. He was earlier paid ₹50 lakh as per a Supreme Court order and ₹10 lakh based on National Human Rights Commission's order. He was acquitted by the Supreme Court in 1998.
