Former Union minister of state for telecom Tapan Sikdar, who was BJP's popular face in Bengal, died at AIIMS on Monday at 70. He had kidney ailments and even he was on dialysis for twice a week, when he contested the parliamentary 2014 polls. He had helped BJP to make its footing in Bengal amid the Left regime.
