Ex-RBI Governor S Venkitaramanan passed away at the age of 92, the bank said. He served as RBI Governor from 1990-1992 and helped the country during the payments crisis. "He was an outstanding personality and public servant. Made immense contribution during periods of crisis. May his soul rest in eternal peace," RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
