Former Reserve Bank of India Governor Urjit Patel has been appointed as the chairman of the National Institute of Public Finance and Policy (NIPFP) for a four-year term with effect from June 22. Patel will be replacing Vijay Laxman Kelkar, who had assumed office on November 1, 2014. Urjit Patel had resigned as RBI Governor in December 2018.
