Former Sri Lankan Intelligence Chief arrested over Easter attacks

Sri Lankan police arrested retired Major-General Suresh Sallay, the former intelligence chief, in connection with the 2019 Easter Sunday bombings that killed around 270 people. Charged with conspiracy and aiding the attackers, Sallay's arrest follows allegations of his prior connections to the bombers and potential involvement in influencing the subsequent presidential election.
