Ranil Wickremesinghe, the former President of Sri Lanka, was arrested for allegedly "misusing government funds". Local reports claimed he was arrested when he arrived at the police criminal investigation department to record his statement. The case pertains to his visit to the UK in 2023. He was accompanied by at least 10 other persons back then, claimed reports.
