Former Tamil Nadu Education Minister Anbil Mahesh arrested in ₹100-crore corruption case

Ex-Tamil Nadu School Education Minister Anbil Mahesh has been arrested by Chennai Police in an alleged ₹100-crore case involving approvals for private schools. He was arrested after Madras High Court rejected his anticipatory bail plea. According to police, funds were collected from school managements in return for promises of licences, permanent recognition and other clearances as "party funds".
