Former Turkish President Suleyman Demirel died on Wednesday aged 90 while undergoing treatment for a respiratory tract infection. Demirel, whose government was toppled twice by the military, served as the Prime Minister seven times during 1960-1990 and as President from 1993-2000. Turkey now faces a return to a coalition government after no party secured a majority in the recent elections.
