Former captain of Indian women hockey team, Shashi Bala, on Sunday died along with her 15-year-old son Agrim Thakur in a road accident in Punjab. In 1987, Bala made her international debut. She was selected to lead the Indian team during the 1997 FIH Women World Cup qualifier held in Harare.
