Formula 1 to revise engine rules for 2027 season for safer racing

Formula 1 will recalibrate its engine regulations for 2027, shifting to a 60-40 power split favoring internal combustion over electrical energy. The move follows driver backlash against 2026’s "lift and coast" requirements. By reducing electrical output to 300 kW, F1 aims to eliminate excessive energy saving, restoring aggressive, flat-out racing and improving on-track safety.
