Fossils of oldest multicellular organisms found

Chinese researchers claimed to have discovered fossils of 1.56-billion-year-old multicellular organisms, pushing back the date of multicellular life on Earth by almost a billion years. This means that the "oxygen levels were sufficiently high to allow for such large organisms to subsist", a scientist said. However, some other scientists were unconvinced about the organisms being multicellular.
