The National Geographic Society on Wednesday sold the National Geographic magazine to a partnership headed by 21st Century Fox, controlled by Rupert Murdoch. The deal, worth $725 million, includes the magazine, its book, maps, and other media assets. Under the terms, 73 percent of the operation- National Geographic Partners- will be controlled by Fox and will be based in Washington.
