Minister for Electronics and IT Ashwini Vaishnaw said Vedanta and Taiwan-based Foxconn "are committed to India's semiconductor mission and Make in India programme". His statement comes after Foxconn said it's pulling out of a $19.5-billion chipmaking joint venture with Vedanta. Meanwhile, Minister of State for IT Rajeev Chandrasekhar said the move won't affect India's semiconductor fab goal.
