The French government on Friday rejected an asylum request from WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange saying he did not face "immediate danger". Assange had written an open letter to the French government requesting asylum wherein he described himself as a "journalist pursued and threatened with death by the US as a result of my [his] professional activities".
