France summoned the US ambassador on Wednesday to ask for explanations over allegations by WikiLeaks of NSA spying on successive French leaders. President Francois Hollande called an emergency meeting of his ministers and army commanders and branded the spying "unacceptable". A French intelligence official would be sent to the US to confirm the spying is over, a government spokesperson said.
