A frog wedding in Varanasi, recently went viral. The wedding ceremony of the amphibians, conducted according to Vedic rituals, is an ancient practice common among agrarian communities in states such as Assam, Karnataka, and Uttar Pradesh. It is believed marrying the frogs will appease the rain gods. Frogs are dressed up in finery and even wedding cards are sent out.
