BMC Commissioner Ashwini Bhide said on the podcast that metro systems can never be handed fully to private players in India, as fares must stay affordable. She recalled Gurgaon's DLF-built metro couldn't be sustained and DMRC had to take it over, while Hyderabad's L&T-run Phase 1 also went to the government.
