Digital gaming company, Games24x7, has laid off 500 employees following the new law, which mandates a blanket ban on real-money gaming. Earlier, Mobile Premier League had reportedly cut 80% of its workforce, while Pokerbaazi's promoter reduced its workforce by over 200 people. Around 45 crore Indians have reportedly lost ₹20,000-crore in a year after getting addicted to online money games.
