The only known oil painting of Mahatma Gandhi made by Clare Leighton is going up for auction in July in the UK. The portrait, for which he agreed to pose while seated, is expected to be sold for £50,000-£70,000 (₹58 lakh to ₹81 lakh). The portrait was displayed publicly in 1974 but was allegedly attacked with a knife.
