Hyderabad Police have busted an inter-state child trafficking racket, in which members of the gang would buy babies from poor people in Delhi, Pune and sell them to childless couples for up to ₹5.5 lakh. Police have rescued 13 children and arrested 11 persons. The racket was uncovered after a woman was arrested for selling a child for ₹4.5 lakh.
