Ganga Canal closed for maintenance, NCR water supply to be affected

The Ganga Canal has been closed till November 8 for annual maintenance, desilting and redevelopment, affecting irrigation and drinking water supply in parts of NCR. The closure will also affect irrigation water supply across 15 districts of Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand's Haridwar. "All relevant departments and stakeholders were informed well in advance,” a UP irrigation department official said.
