Billionaires Bill Gates and Jeff Bezos backed startup KoBold Metals has discovered a massive copper deposit in Zambia. The California-based startup achieved unicorn status last year following a $200 million investment round. KoBold Metals uses AI to find new deposits of copper, lithium, nickel, and cobalt to be used in batteries among other purposes.
