India's gems and jewellery exports in January have declined by 20.6% year-on-year to $2.2 billion, data from the gems and jewellery export promotion council has revealed. Among the constituents, diamond export value plunged 41.7% to $1 billion while silver exports surged 163.7% to $268 million. Further, cumulative gems and jewellery exports during April-January declined 14.5% to $25.9 billion.
