Gene mutation helped humans survive in last Ice Age: Study

US-based scientists have discovered a gene mutation that evolved 20,000 years ago that affected mammary duct growth, providing more fat and vitamin D to infants. The discovery was made on finding shovel-shaped teeth, which are related to the same gene. Researchers said the mutation helped humans survive the migration from Siberia to Alaska during the last Ice Age.
