General Charles Brown Jr appointed as first black US Air Force chief

The US Senate has unanimously confirmed the appointment of General Charles Brown Jr as chief of staff of the US Air Force. He is the first African American to serve as a service chief in the US military. Brown most recently served as the commander of US Pacific Air Forces. The vote came amid protests over George Floyd's death.
