Geologists find 2.5 billion-year-old granite in Madhya Pradesh

A team of scientists from India, Japan and Brazil confirmed that Madhya Pradesh's Pichhore orbicular granite in Kutawali village is approximately 2.56 billion years old. The study found it to be the world's second-oldest known orbicular rock, meaning it has mysterious spherical structures resembling tree rings or cricket balls embedded in it. The oldest known orbicular rock is in Australia.
