German Chancellor Friedrich Merz announced a visa-free transit facility for Indian citizens during his first official visit to India on Monday. PM Narendra Modi thanked Merz, stating this initiative will strengthen people-to-people ties between India and Germany. Now, Indian passport holders won't need a transit visa to wait in the international transit area of a German airport.
