Germany will lift the mandatory mask rule for travellers on both long and short-distance public transport journeys from Thursday. Germany had initially planned to enforce the mask rule for taking public transport till April. However, masks will have to be mandatorily worn when people are visiting hospitals, care homes and dentists' offices until April 7.
