Germany faces extreme heat as temperatures cross 41°C

As the heatwave in Europe moved eastward, Germany recorded record high temperatures, with 41.3°C reached near the city of Saarbrücken. German authorities issued extreme heat warnings for nearly all of the country on Saturday and urged people to save water. Temperatures of 36°C were expected across the country, with local highs of up to 42°C possible.
