Germany's Robert Koch Institute (RKI) on Wednesday reported 2,62,593 new COVID-19 cases. The country's seven-day incidence rate rose to a record 1,607 infections per 1,00,000 people for the first time over the past week. The RKI also reported 269 COVID-19 related deaths, raising the total death toll in Germany since the pandemic began to 1,26,142.
