Germany on Friday will close down three of its last six nuclear power plants, as it focuses on withdrawing from nuclear power to focus on renewables. The reactors of Brokdorf, Grohnde and Gundremmingen C will be shut down after three and a half decades in operation. Germany aims to make renewables meet 80% of power demand by 2030.
