Giant rats help clear landmines in Cambodia

African giant pouched rats are sniffing out landmines left behind as the result of decades of war in Cambodia. The rats are trained to detect explosives and can cover 2,000 square feet in about 20 minutes. They lead de-miners to the explosives, but as they weigh around 1 kg, they are not big enough to set them off.
