India skipper Shubman Gill has broken the record for scoring most runs by an India captain in a Test series. With his 15*(23) before lunch on Day 1 of The Oval Test, Gill took his run tally in the ongoing five-match series to 737. The previous record was held by Sunil Gavaskar, who scored 732 against West Indies in 1978.
