The possible cause of Sikkim flash floods could be a combination of excess rainfall and a Glacial Lake Outburst Flood (GLOF) event at North Sikkim's South Lhonak Lake, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) said. Nearly 25 glacial lakes in Sikkim are assessed to be at-risk, NDMA added. At least 14 people died and 102 went missing after flash floods.
