GLP-1 diabetes drugs linked to lower epilepsy risk

A Neurology study of over 450,000 adults with type 2 diabetes found that those using GLP-1 drugs had a 16% lower risk of developing epilepsy compared to patients on DPP-4 inhibitors. The association was strongest with semaglutide. Researchers stress the findings are preliminary and call for randomized trials to confirm potential neurological benefits.
