The DGGI Guwahati unit has arrested Shiv Kumar Mittal, owner of GM Coke in Byrnihat, for evading over ₹150 crore in GST through fake invoices. Mittal allegedly sourced coke from illegal plants in Meghalaya, routing purchases via dummy firms. His arrest follows a ₹1,000 crore fake invoicing probe across Assam, Meghalaya, and in the rest of Northeastern states.
