GMC Patiala becomes Punjab’s 1st govt medical college to perform kidney transplant

GMC Patiala became the first government medical college in Punjab to perform a kidney transplant, which was carried out completely free of cost under Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojana (MMSY). Punjab Health Minister praised the milestone, saying, "This marks a transformative chapter in Punjab's public medical history." This comes after GMC Patiala got the state's first plasma bank in 2020.
