Goa CM Pramod Sawant said the state is a "yog bhoomi (land of yoga), not bhog bhoomi (land of pleasure)". "When people visited Goa, they used to think it was 'bhog bhoomi'. This [Goa] is...'Gau mata's bhoomi' (mother cow's land), this is 'Lord Parshuram's bhoomi'," he added. Sawant stated that Goa is now becoming known for its temples and culture.
